Proteus Europe is searching for a French and Dutch speaking IT Development Manager to join a prestigious client located in Brussels, Belgium. This is a long term contract which could turn permanent.

Your New role :-

Our client is looking for an IT Development Manager for permanent employment.

Organization:

- Reports to Head of IT and is a member of the MT IT

- Gives hierarchical guidance to 5 team leads and (3) Agile coaches

- 125 employees within IT Development (internal and external)

- until mid-2018 two locations, Diegem and Brussels, then only location Fonsny

Target:

The preparation and realization of the IT Development and IT quality strategy for the organization in coordination with Head of IT and IT management team regarding new developments and continuity in order to give the relevant departments or products a qualitative IT support and thus enable the realization of the business objectives. Responsible with the business for the realization of the waterfall organization to transform into an Agile organization.

Quality:

- Has a leading role in securing and introducing quality

- Introduces methodologies and quality standards, reuse from the NN group, reuse of external sources, compiles itself

- Measure the quality of employees and (Agile) teams

- Proactively directs training and, where possible, certification of employees

Staffing / Sourcing:

- Conducts pro active sourcing policy tailored to the calendar / PI planning projects

- Controls a healthy mix between interns and externals while retaining knowledge within the organization

- Start recruiting together with HR in time, geared to project calendar / PI schedules

- Has up-to-date insight into interns and externals and targets targets

- Advises Head of IT and implements co- and out-sourcing solutions

Maintains contacts with external suppliers and outsourcers:

- Asks information and offers to the suppliers

- Analyzes the received bids and assigns contracts

- Negotiates contracts with the external suppliers and follows them up, where necessary, coordination with procurement

Monitors and introduces / implements the methodologies and tools that (should) be used within the team and proactively transforms to target:

- New tools to improve the functioning of the teams

- Monitors market evolutions and advises Head of IT

Troubleshooting:

- Realizing a perfect business alignment, whereby the companys business strategy is optimally supported by future-oriented, qualitative and reliable IT systems and employees within an acceptable budget

- Maintaining the balance between business strategy, technology, people management and budget

- Convincing people within the organization that are not directly managed

- Is independent in the organization of the operation of the own team to realize the intended objectives within the allocated limitations (timing and budget)

- Calls on the manager to validate strategic decisions

Communication:

Internal contacts:

- Frequent contact with Head of IT and IT management team

- Frequent contact with business about performance of own organization

- Daily contact with the employees of the own team

- Frequent contact with various parties within the change organization

External contacts:

- Monthly contact with suppliers and outsourcers regarding the negotiation of contracts and the follow-up of SLAs, ...

- Contact with the group

Your Skills and Qualifications :-

Essential Skills :-

Knowledge and complexity:

- Knowledge level Master or equivalent through experience

- Knowledge of Dutch, French and English (spoken / written)

- Knowledge of IT systems, applications, tools, architecture and methodologies

- Relevant work experience of 8 years

- Knowledge of IT systems, applications, tools, architecture and methodologies

- Knowledge of Agile and Project Management

- Knowledge of negotiation techniques

- Knowledge of IT contracts

- Knowledge insurance technical products

- Knowledge of the structure, the internal procedures and the work processes of the organization
