£42,000 - £49,000 per annum

A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced chemist with preferable radiochemistry experience to join a FTSE 100 Organisation based in Cumbria, providing a key technical input to the design, development, validation and compilation of analytical methods. The role will primarily involve the improvement and development of analytical methods for environmental radiochemistry techniques.

Primary responsibilities include;

* Development and validation of analytical methods

* Identify opportunities and improvements for cost efficiencies to assist in maximising revenue for the business

* Ensure validation of new and existing techniques and equipment to comply with relevant standards and UKAS guidelines

* Co-ordinate and lead technical contributions to projects

* Ensure safety considerations are incorporated in new methods

* Deputise for laboratory management

Qualifications and Requirements

* Strong Chemist background

* Technical background in analytical chemistry

* Excellent report writing skills

* Experience in process improvement
