DEVOPS ENGINEER: (LINUX, OPENSTACK, AWS, MONITORING, REMOTE WORKING )
Work location is in LONDON on a 6 month contract; 375/400 per day.
The role is within a Custom Engineering team for a Network and Telecommunications industry leader.
Candidates can work from home; 5% of their in the office and 95% at home needing an excellent, high availability internet connection.
You must have:
* Minimum 3 years industry experience - preferably in Telecommunication video products
* 3+ years experience of working in large, complex deployment environments.
* 3+ years working in a Delivery or Operations team.
* Experience of working with CI/CD, Agile and/or DevOps.
* Experience of troubleshooting distributed web based systems
* Demonstrable experience of Linux systems administration such as Red Hat or CentOS.
* Working knowledge of a key database technology such as Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra and CouchBase.
* Experience configuring monitoring tools such as Splunk, ELK, Sensu, Grafana.
* Great scripting skills.
Have at least one of these value -add skills:
* Experience of virtualisation technologies such as OpenStack, OpenShift.
* Deployment experience of cloud platforms, preferably AWS
* Network administration / security.
* Solid understanding of technologies such as encoding, DRM, VoD, CA.
* Familiarity with ITIL best practice.
You will have the opportunity to:
* Work in highly collaborative environment, across multiple time zones on a 24x7 follow the sun support model. This may include some weekend working or shift work.
* Build highly interactive relationships - both with the customer and across scrum teams, time zones and cultures.
* Effectively monitor, provision, install/configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software.
* Actively participate in DevOps groups responsible for the product CI/CD pipeline.
* Automate of monitoring tasks, and execute creative dashboarding.
* Attentively manage Service Requests, Incidents and Problems.
* Champion improvements into the product based on ease of trouble-shooting, monitoring, assurance, etc.
* Develop tools, scripts, or processes to make things better.
* Work with Change and Release management processes to deliver functional or maintenance releases.
