Software Tester

Software Tester / Software Development / UAT / ISEB / ISTQB / Permanent / Birmingham City Centre

My nationally recognised and award winning client is looking for a Software Tester to join their Software Development Team in Birmingham City Centre.

The Software Tester contributes to the successful delivery of outcomes across all work streams which require technical development, by delivering solutions and services to enable the output of quality products and meet commercial and regulatory requirements.

This is a complex and challenging role with a varied and changing workload; the ability to manage an evolving workload with the willingness to adapt to changing priorities and focus quickly will be essential.

Key responsibilities:

*Proactively liaise with the Project Manager to provide robust resource and time requirements to support business cases for technical development approval, and to assist in the scheduling of development work.

*Responsibility for creating detailed testing technical documentation which meets the business requirements and that provides clear testing instructions to system and UAT testers.

*Accountable for ensuring that all developed solutions meets the business requirements and quality acceptance criteria, through thorough system testing and UAT whilst falling within the agreed budget and milestones.

*Responsibility for providing support to colleagues through all key stages (testing, implementation and training) of the technical development life cycle.

*Proactively engage with business areas to ensure they are kept informed of testing progress and are fully involved with key decisions, risk discovery and mitigation.

*Responsibility for the technical guardianship of the Siebel CRM to ensure that new enhancements are complimentary and cause minimal impact to existing functionality, by ensuring full regression testing is completed and documented.

*Responsibility for ensuring that the implementation of newly developed systems, or existing system enhancements, are adopted fully by providing expert system knowledge when training material is being created, and assisting the business owner when approving training material.

Key skills and experience required:

*Experience of developing and executing test cases.

*Experience of developing and executing regression tests to verify new code and defect fixes have not negatively impacted the tests that have already been completed.

*Good knowledge of software testing techniques.

*Experience of system testing, system integration and UAT on a complex and highly integrated project.

*Experience of managing a continuous integration environment.

*Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders to feedback outcomes of testing, and build effective relationships to reach mutually beneficial solutions.

*ISTQB/ISEB Testing Certification (Foundation).

*Experience of MS Team Foundation Server

*Any experience of Siebel CRM and SharePoint is also desirable but not essential.

*A basic understanding of Microsoft development platform would also be beneficial.
