EC&I Engineer

A market leading FTSE 100 organisation is currently recruiting for EC&I Engineers to take on permanent positions ASAP. The company is highly regarded for its employee recognition and vital position in today's market place. You will be a driven individual who is looking to work in a fast paced environment with supportive team in a diverse and challenging environment.

Based in either Irlam or Daresbury, the role will involve working as part of a long term service agreement contract with a nuclear facility to provide CE&I engineering conceptual and detailed design, drawings, modelling, calculations, and technical solutions in the delivery of customer funded tasks and projects.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

* Production of CE&I drawings.

* Proficient with electrical symbols and drawing standards, Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Cable Routing Diagrams, Control Circuit Schematic Diagrams, Panel General Assemblies, Termination diagrams, Instrument Loop/hook-up diagrams as a minimum.

* Ensuring that procedures, codes and standards are correctly applied to engineering and technical activities.

* Consider, act upon and record health, safety and environmental issues at all stages of the design process (bid and contract) in accordance with relevant procedures and policies.

* Producing and checking calculations, drawings, design base documentation and technical reports.

* Proficient in Amtech and Dialux

* Specifying technical detail of designs and where necessary detailed drawings to support project delivery.

* Engaging with engineering related suppliers and using product catalogues to determine appropriate materials and parts are selected in the design.

* Contributing to design risk assessments.

* Supporting design reviews, HAZOPs and other meetings with detailed information on designs.

* Reviewing the affect of implementing design changes.

* Work within the task man-hour budget or advise the Technical Lead or Functional Lead why this cannot be achieved.

* Report on a periodic basis specified by the Project Manager the estimate to complete of their assigned task.

* Assessing impacts of concessions and technical queries on the detailed design.

* Ensuring that adequate Reviewing, Verifying & Approval is undertaken on all their deliverables and for those under their direct control and supervision.

* Maintain effective communications with all other disciplines and functional groups (e.g. Mechanical, EC&I, Hazard Management etc.) associated with the task or project, and when required, with the customer and their staff.

The successful candidate will display the following skills, experience and qualifications:

* HND/HNC as a minimum or relevant experience.

* Member of one or more relevant professional institutions preferred.

* Demonstrable experience covering a range of engineering/technical topics.

* Good appreciation of manufacturing, assembly and workshop methods.

* Nuclear industry or other safety or regulated industry experience (Desirable)

* Eligible for SC Clearance (essential)
