IATF16949 Automotive Quality & Witness Auditor Birmingham

Huxley Engineering and a Global Name in the Automotive Industry are looking to recruit an IATF16949 Automotive Quality & Witness Auditor on a permanent basis for their offices in the Birmingham area, owing to succession planning within the organisation and project workload.

Reporting into the IATF Oversight Manager, the role of the IATF16949 Automotive Quality & Witness Auditor is an integral part of the IATF Over function, as the IATF16949 Automotive Quality & Witness Auditor will be responsible for the administration and performance of the IATF16949 3rd party Certification scheme, as well as directing, leading, and managing key projects and initiatives required by the IATF.

This includes close working with Certification Bodies, Certified Organisations and Auditors on behalf of the IATF OEM members (BMW, FCA LLC, Daimler, FCA Italy, FORD, GM, PSA, Renault & Volkswagen)

Responsibilities for the IATF16949 Automotive Quality & Witness Auditor role include undertaking witness audits and office assessments, for the reporting Certification Bodies.

In addition, this IATF16949 Automotive Quality & Witness Auditor position is responsible for improving the understanding of the IATF Rules, IATF 16949, Core Tools, IATF customer specific requirements and other IATF systems and tools for contracted Certification Bodies and Oversight auditors.

Key objectives and duties include:

* Undertake Witness Audits (minimum 4/year) and Office Assessments

* Conduct technical reviews of all draft Office Assessment and draft Witness Audit reports and release the final reports to the Certification Bodies (and IATF OEMs as requested)

* Conduct technical reviews of all nonconformities ready for closure after auditors have submitted objective evidence for recommending closure

* Conduct Office Assessments as required, including increased surveillance of "at risk" Certification Bodies

* Direct and manage the contracted Certification Bodies to ensure compliance to Rules (including nonconformity management from witness audit/office assessment), provide technical expertise related to Rules 5th Edition, IATF 16949, OEM customer specific requirements

* Lead and coordinate meetings with contracted certification bodies (i.e. nonconformity analysis, stakeholder input on IATF projects, etc.), as needed

* Involvement in the IATF Audit Management Platform software system

* Involvement in the development of SI's and FAQ's for IATF 16949 and Rules 5th edition and roll out to the Certification Bodies

* Actively support the deployment of IATF 16949 and Oversight initiatives

* Lead, coordinate and conduct annual witness auditor meetings for all auditors

* Lead in the identification, selection, training and qualification of any new witness auditors

* Provide technical answers to waiver requests received from Certification Bodies

* Produce quarterly Certification Body performance summaries (Scorecards)

Qualifications & experience required for IATF16949 Automotive Quality & Witness Auditor role:

* Automotive Quality Management Experience

* A working understanding of ISO/TS16949 or IATF 16949 scheme Rules

* A working understanding of ISO/TS16949 or IATF 16949 requirement

* Strong knowledge of latest Automotive Tools & Techniques

* Experience of working with a Certification Body ideally with scheme management experience

* A high level of IT skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* A strong intellect capable of rapidly assimilating data
