Document Control Lead
Farnborough

I'm looking for an experienced Document Control Lead to build a document control function within a growing organization in Farnborough. The Document Control Lead will also do some light CAD and PCB layout work. You will report to the Director, Applications Engineering, and work closely with multiple internal teams to deliver manage the creation and updates of engineering documents delivered to customers and supply chain partners.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Architect engineering documentation numbering and nesting scheme, describing pros/cons of alternatives, e.g.
* intelligent vs non-intelligent numbering
* use of variants or family trees to reduce document churn in nested bill of materials (BoMs)
- Define Engineering Change Request/Order (ECR/ECO) workflow
- Document ECR/ECOs
- Manage/consolidate ECRs into ECOs
- Drive ECO closure
- Implement ECOs using in-house Product Lifecycle Management software package, Arena
- Contribute to documentation architecture discussions
- Create assembly and source control CAD drawings using SolidWorks
- Create PCB layouts for test boards using Altium
Required Experience:
- Work within a multi-disciplined, worldwide team
- Work with complex electronic assembly comprised of a mix of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components and in-house assemblies
- Worked with ECO and PLM software packages
Desirable Experience:
- Work in the microcontroller or semiconductor industries
- Recent smartcard, mobile handset or IoT experience is highly desirable
Education:
- Technical college
