Release Management Consultant

My award winning and well recognised client is looking for a Release Management Consultant to be based at their South Birmingham head office.

The Release Management Consultant will work on major finance systems software releases within a cloud based environment. The systems team are responsible for the design, build, test and implementation of changes to systems. You will ensure the changes made are robust and well controlled, operating a structured process with supporting governance.

Key responsibilities:

*Support in bringing control and ensuring there is a structural approach to configuration management and change.

*Play a key part in the driving effectiveness by ensuring finance systems are governed by the Release & Configuration Management policy.

*Source code management software, using tools such as Subversion.

*Controlling what developers use on software release, builds and deployments.

*Managing defects and working with internal stakeholders such as business change initiators and internal and external development teams.

Key skills and experience required:

*Demonstrable experience of managing and releasing complex changes.

*Strong understanding of release management and ITIL processes for Change & Release Management.

*Experience of source code management and configuration using Subversion is essential.

*A confident communicator that is delivery focused and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

*Stakeholder management to both the business (non-technical) and development teams (technical).

*Proven track record in delivering releases and maintaining calendars, managing risks and dependencies.

*Experience in a Financial Services environment would be desirable but not essential.
