Data Protection Manager/Contract/3 Months/Newbury/Travelling/GDPR/Management

Spring Technology is currently recruiting for a Data Protection Manager to work with our public sector client in either Newbury and required to travel to other offices. This is a 3 month contract falling outside IR35 paying up to £300 per day.

The Data Protection Manager will support the designated Data Protection Officer. The purpose of this key role is to act as a subject matter expert on data protection which includes providing advice; and raising the profile of data protection and wider information. This is not a legal post and I am looking for an experienced data protection professional that also has project management skills.

Main tasks will include:

*Manage the implementation of the action plan to become compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) across the clients sites.

*Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on data protection matters which includes working closely with the Information Technology Department advising on the application of data protection requirements in the context of information security

*Manage the implementation of the action plan to become compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) across the clients site by May 2018.

*Manage the data protection function providing advice and guidance to managers and staff on data protection matters.

*Raise awareness of and compliance with the current data protection laws and the GDPR.

Essential skills include:

*To be successful in this role, it is essential you have significant management and technical experience in managing all aspects of information data protection in a large organisation and experience in developing and maintaining information frameworks.

*Have to be able to have had project management skill implementation in GDPR and a good understanding and knowledge of GDPR that might include data mapping activities.

*Full driving licence and car.
