Site Electrical Supervisor

A leading FTSE 100 company is currently recruiting for a Site Electrical Supervisor to take on a permanent position ASAP. The company is highly regarded for its employee recognition and vital position in today's market place. To main purpose of the role is to ensure that all activities and equipment on the installation site meets all applicable SHEQ standards and to drive the company's commitment to "Everyone going home safe every day"

This role is required to undertake the supervision of the electrical installation activities. The responsibilities include assisting the site manager in keeping the site a safe environment and to ensure work is completed in line with quality standards and the project's programme

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

* Protect the information assets of the Company and comply with the Company's Information Assurance policies and procedures at all times.

* Demonstrate safety, integrity & commitment at all times and be the initial point of contact for the operatives on shift.

* To ensure your own safety and the safety of others at all times by working to the Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

* Responsibility for ensuring that 'Toolbox talks' are being effectively delivered on a regular basis and that the topics are relevant to the project.

* To be part of the team and encourage good communication.

* Attend all 'buildabilities' and use experience and knowledge from previous roles to identify the best methods of installation.

* Responsible for the review of electrical detail within the method statements and risk assessments and for ensuring that electrical registers are in place for isolations.

* Provide assistance to the procurement department to ensure that plant equipment ordered for the works is of the correct specification (i.e. Test equipment, podiums and Jacks)

* Responsible for ensuring that registers are in place for plant and equipment checks.

* Ensure that any allocated electrical issues are dealt with and the impact assessed with the Site Manager/Site Engineer before communicating updates to the site team.

* Assist the design team on site carrying out surveys and ensure that they are working in accordance with the project and safe systems of work.

* Responsible for ensuring that the electrical installation is completed to achieve the gateways for energisation of the system and handover.

* Be responsible for the snagging (close out) process and ensure that prior to a SAT being undertaken all relevant items are resolved.

* Responsible for electrical (red line) 'as built' documentation.

* Participate in weekly site safety walks and complete a report.

* Deputise for other site electrical/mechanical supervisors in their absence.

* Participate in lessons learned meetings for all completed work packs, ensuring that allocated issues found during the project are resolved.

* Perform other duties as considered appropriate by the Installations Manager.

* To pro-actively report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and near misses and to become part of the extra ordinary safety culture and help promote the "Home safe everyday campaign".

* Assist with the technical detail required within method statements.

* Inspection of installed plant and documentation prior to setting to work and commissioning

* To work with the Site Planner to plan in detail site activities, to ensure these activities are executed in a safe and timely way and meet the agreed project quality plan.

* Ability to read the programme and ensure that equipment is delivered to site at the required times.

* Assist commissioning engineers working on site.

* Produce Shift reports and attending meetings as required

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience:

* Able to manage and co-ordinate working groups consisting of people from differing elements and levels within their organisations

* Extensive knowledge of Airline/Handler baggage operational processes (Desirable)

* Extensive knowledge of cross Heathrow/Gatwick baggage operations and maintenance processes and procedures (Desirable)

* Knowledge of electrical installation practices and safe systems of work (Essential)

* A good understanding of design processes and the implantation of the design onto an operational site (Essential)

* Experience of working with Project teams and an understanding of the project management process

* Facilitation of process development and review workshops and team briefs

* Experience of HAL/GAL document management process and procedures including the use of Documentum would be an advantage (Desirable)

* NVQ level 3 in Engineering Craftsmanship or similar (Essential)
