IT Manager

Athona Recruitment was formed in 2003 in response to a demand for honest, reliable and professional recruitment solutions, focusing on specialist recruitment in the healthcare and education markets. The position of IT Manager will be responsible for supporting all areas of the business.

Main Purpose of the role:

To contribute to the successful achievement of Athona's overall business objectives through the delivery, maintenance and ongoing development of robust IT systems.

To lead a team of two in supporting the changing needs of the business through the handling of technical escalations, resolving high priority infrastructure issues and helping create, develop and maintain IT related projects. In addition to this, day to day support of the IT helpdesk will be required.

An ideal candidate for this role will feel comfortable working across the whole business and work with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

- Implement/Support key department SLAs such as uptime, and customer service standards

- Support the IT team by handling escalations and mentoring staff as appropriate

- Research and Implement solutions for projects across the entire business

- Management of the IT budget and cost saving exercises to ensure operational excellence.

- Maintaining positive business relationships with external IT stakeholders

- Perform upgrades and maintenance on the infrastructure

- Ensuring the stability, security and performance of the infrastructure supporting a 24/7 business

- Minimising downtime through pro-activity and performance monitoring

- Keeping up to date with developments within the industry and upskilling

- Managing the IT Support schedule to ensure staffing at peak times as well as the on-call rota to ensure out of hours coverage.
