Job title: Communications Design Engineer

What you'll be doing:

  • Undertaking functional design, providing specialist advice, and producing evidence in support of legislative, safety, and technical requirements
  • Liaising with internal and external customers as part of a technical team
  • Undertaking peer reviews
  • Articulating and presenting technical arguments, clearly, logically and simply

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • A relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or, Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in different engineering lifecycle phases
  • Proven track record of system or equipment design in communications and / or electronics
  • Experience of digital data networks
  • Technical report writing skills and experienced in requirements definition and management

Desirable

  • Have or be working toward relevant Professional Registration (CEng)

The Submarines Solutions team:

You will be helping to define and shape the design of the Royal Navy's next generation attack class submarine and will be working to implement novel internal communications technology and concepts whilst collaborating with colleagues within the Integrated Combat Systems business, wider stakeholders, suppliers and the Royal Navy.
