Lead DSP Engineer, Optical Communication Systems

I am seeking a Lead DSP Engineer for Optical Communication Systems to join a world-leading research centre in Paris, Ile-de France, to take leadership of an existing team and work on the innovation of new DSP algorithms for optical communications.

This is an excellent opportunity for any subject matter experts in the field of coherent optical DSP and WDM ( Wavelength-division multiplexing ).

Primary responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with academia and other research centres in the full-cycle development, research, innovation, design, and implementation of DSP algorithms for coherent optical communications
  • Deliver DSP algorithms to product line, and support the teams that will be in charge of;
  • Lead a team with opportunity to grow in the future
Essential experience
  • PhD + strong track record of publications in leading journals (JLT, PTL, Opt. Express…) and conferences (OFC, ECOC), and/or patents.
  • At least 7+ years of industry experience or post-doc research in the field of DSP algorithms (FEC, MIMO, equalisation etc.) and optical communication systems
  • Proven experience leading project and team
  • Language agnostic; as long as you can create market-leading algorithms it can be done in any programming language
  • Must be in or able to relocate to the Paris office
Desired experience
  • Definition, coding, and verification of DSP blocks
  • High performance RTL coding,
  • Knowledge of ASIC implementation
